A boutique wine farm in the Upper Hemel and Aarde valley is looking for a tasting room assistant for the festive period.
Expected duration for this vacancy is for the holiday period (December-January)
This position plays an important role in delivering memorable and informative wine tasting experiences to our valued guests.
You will be responsible for engaging with visitors, guiding them through our wine selection, sharing insights about our wine-making process and make sure the visit is enjoyable and educational.
The tasting room runs on a 7 day week, including public holidays.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
- Conduct wine tastings
- Maintain clean and organized tasting room
- Handle wine sales, process transactions, manage inventory accurately
- Uphold highest standard of customer service
Requirements but not limited to:
- Previous experience in a customer facing role (hospitality or wine industry)
- Passionate, confidant and knowledgeable about wine
- Excellent communication skills and ability to upsell
- Well presented, energetic and enthusiastic nature
- Attention to detail and able to multitask
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy boxes
- Reside in Hermanus area
- Have own transport
