Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Durbaville
Reports To: Group Finance Manager
Position Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is essential to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and supporting business decision-making

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with applicable accounting principles (IFRS).
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Month-End/Year-End Close: Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis: Provide analysis of financial results, identify trends, and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide required documentation.
- Tax Reporting: Assist with the preparation of corporate tax filings, VAT returns, and other regulatory filings as required.
- Ad-hoc Reporting: Prepare special financial reports for senior management and other stakeholders as requested.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with financial audits and external reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (E.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
