The Guest Relations Officer for Jordan Luxury Suites and The Cellar Door
The main function of The Guest Relations officer is to deliver friendly and efficient customer service as well as to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. The key aim is to anticipate clients’ needs to enhance the customer experience.
Due to job requirements, only male applications will be considered (no dependents).
This position is a live-in position.
The Guest Relations officer will be required to permanently live on the property. The accommodation is a semi - equipped house with electricity, water and wi-fi.
The Guest Relations officer will be required to be on standby to be available for guest emergencies, early check-outs, late check-ins and other relevant duties. When on duty, be responsible for the cell phone and taking any after-hour calls or answering messages, ensuring that you deal with it in a professional manner.
Day to day duties will include but not be limited to:
- Welcoming and acknowledging all guests visiting Jordan Estate.
- Stay updated with Restaurant, Luxury Suites and Cellar Door bookings and specials.
- Be familiar and confident in all departments of the estate.
- Communicating walk in guests to each department’s manager.
- “Think on feet” attitude to assist guests when all departments are full, create an expectation and follow through with continuous communication.
- Attending to guests' personal requests.
- Maintain records of incoming guests and obtain the necessary documentation from the guest. Update CRM notes daily on reservation platform.
- Ensuring guests checking out have settled their bill and those suites are left in a reasonable condition with no items removed or taken.
- Be able to think on the spot and solve problems quickly and efficiently with as little inconvenience caused to the guests. Be proactive.
- Be informed on what is happening at Jordan Wine Estate, the history as well as other activities and establishments in Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands, and in Cape Town.
- Inform the Manager about any staff issues/concerns brought to your attention.
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations when the Accommodation Manager is absent or not present and be able to manage the team.
- Fulfill the necessary daily administration duties at The Luxury Suites.
- Report maintenance issues and assist with monthly routine maintenance checks of suites.
- Assisting team members where needed.
- Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Upholding highest level of quality and standards set by Management.
- Follow all relevant health department regulations.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in hospitality and tourism
- ± five (5) years relevant experience and experience within the wine and hospitality industry are pre-requisites.
- Computer literate
- Attention to detail
- Own reliable transport essential.
