The Meerlust brand is established and recognised in the industry as a premium legacy brand.  We are looking for a candidate who will manage the day-to-day operations of the tasting toom as well as foster good relationships with Meerlust wine club members, VIP visitors, and private clients of the estate, and build on to the reputation of the brand.

RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES

Customer service: Greeting visitors, answering questions, and educating customers about wine and the winery. Presenting tastings to walk in guests, as well as booked private VIP tastings

Sales: Selling wine, building wine club memberships, and driving sales targets 

Events & Promotions: Planning, staffing, and executing events on and off-site 

Staff management: Training, supervising, and scheduling staff 

Stock: Maintaining good stock levels, weekly stock counts. Dispatching of customer orders and wine samples as needed. Record keeping of marketing stock and tasting samples

Communication: Engage with customers on email, social media platforms and newsletters 

Administrative tasks: Handling administrative tasks Process all sales, including online sales, professionally and expediently.

  • Set up work rosters for the tasting room team
  • Oversee a well maintained and presentable tasting room
  • Updating of price lists and fact sheets
  • Processing of online orders

Working hours: Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.00; 
                             Saturday & select public holidays 10.00 – 15.00

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a candidate with excellent hospitality and managerial skills, attention to detail, and a passion for attracting new customers. We want a team member with a deep passion for wine, sales acumen, and the ability to lead a team. 

  • Cape Wine Academy Diploma or WSET Level 3
  • Good computer skills including excel
  • Pastel knowledge advantageous
  • 3 – 5 years of wine hospitality experience

Own transport essential.
