Our client is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a permanent position in their Wine Tasting Room/Front of House team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact with guests in a professional manner. This individual will ensure that guest complaints are handled with care and resolve any issues efficiently, while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment for all team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the restaurant and wine tasting room
  • Planning and coordinating group bookings
  • Ensuring smooth communication with guests and team members
  • Managing customer service interactions and maintaining a professional demeanour
  • Upholding a high standard of professionalism and customer service
  • Promoting teamwork and fostering a positive atmosphere
  • Handling guest complaints effectively and with composure
  • Demonstrating leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
  • Ensuring adherence to company values
  • Ensuring stock control and performing inventory checks as required
  • Making confident decisions and delegating tasks to team members

 Requirements:

  • Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans
  • Resident in or near Stellenbosch, with own transport (required for shift, weekend, and holiday work)
  • Willingness to work on public holidays and weekends
  • A friendly personality with a professional appearance
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task effectively
  • Proven leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills
  • A keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to stay calm and composed in fast-paced environments
  • Assertive leadership with the ability to take charge

Desirable Experience and Background:

  • Previous experience in Front of House and management roles
  • Wine knowledge and experience in managing a tasting room or restaurant
  • Relevant qualification in Wine, Management, or Hospitality
  • Computer literate
  • Experience in Semper and Pastel advantageous
  • Experience in cash-ups, stocktaking, and financial processes
