Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Tasting Room Assistant. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a World Class brand. The ideal candidate is a brand ambassador and must represent DeMorgenzon with enthusiasm and passion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service: Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, pouring wines, and answering basic questions about our wines and winery.
2. Assist Tasting Room Manager: Support the Tasting Room Manager in day-to-day operations, including setting up tasting stations, restocking inventory, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the tasting room.
3. Wine Education: Learn about our wines, vineyard practices, and winemaking processes to provide basic information and recommendations to guests.
4. Sales Support: Assist with processing transactions, handling credit card payments accurately, and promoting wine and merchandise sales.
5. Event Support: Assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of on-site events, including tastings, wine releases, and private functions.
6. Facility Maintenance: Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the tasting room space, kitchen, and bathrooms to ensure a pleasant environment for guests.
7. Adherence to Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures, including responsible beverage service guidelines and health and safety regulations.
Job Criteria:
- Minimum two years of wine tasting room experience.
- Minimum Level1 WSET
- Enthusiasm for wine and hospitality with a desire to learn and grow in the industry.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for handling transactions and inventory.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- OWN, Reliable transportation to and from the wine farm for scheduled shifts.
