Muratie Wine Estate, a historic winery nestled in the Stellenbosch hills, is known for its fine wines, exquisite cuisine, and warm hospitality. We are seeking a passionate and driven Commis Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver unforgettable culinary experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Prepare ingredients and ensure food is cooked to the highest standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory, and storage of kitchen supplies.
- Support the kitchen team during service to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Relevant culinary qualification or experience in a similar role.
- Passion for food and a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English is essential.
- Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
