There is a position available in our Workshop Department for a Maintenance Worker at Jordan Winery in Stellenbosch. Please see below description of tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Practical Plumbing, Painting and Decorating, Cement-works/ Building, Paving, Carpentry, Mechanical repairs/Installations/Servicing, Landscaping, Tiling, Specialised Cleaning, Minor electrical repairs/replacements, Routine Checks and other maintenance related tasks as directed by management.
  • Conducting General Technical checks as directed.
  • Completing Technical checklists.
  • Conducting general equipment and building inspections on all farm assets as directed.

Conduct

  • Work in a team and independently. 
  • Paying attention to detail and reporting damages to management in as soon as possible.
  • Effectively and efficiently conduct maintenance tasks given.
  • Completing maintenance tasks to the required standard and leaving areas clean and tidy after works completion.
  • Assist with workshop administration, Tool and equipment sign out/in, and documenting use of consumables, spares and tools.
  • Taking care using / storing tools and consumables to avoid wastage or damage.
  • Reporting spares required to complete tasks to the Maintenance Manager as soon as possible.
  • At all times adhering to health and safety standards, following safe working practice and wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment for the task/tools used.
  • Making use of the correct tools for the task, cleaning and returning tools to correct storage space in the workshop by the end of the day.
  • Signing out/in tools required correctly from the Workshop Tool Store.
  • Using tools safely and in the correct manner as directed.
  • Reporting any tool defects or discrepancies immediately to Maintenance Manager.
  • Acting as a safety and maintenance representative, advising farm colleagues on safety and preventative measures regarding equipment and infrastructure care.
