Key Account Manager: Commercial - Table Grapes - Stellenbosch

My Client, a market leader in the fruit export industry, seeks to employ an experienced Key Account Manager with a strong commercial background in export table grapes.  The ideal candidate must be capable of supporting the company’s dynamic and fast-paced environment and have the ability to cooperate in a diverse team. 

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Support Commercial team with the development and implementation of marketing plans and procurement strategies
  • Involved in managing fruit export programs – meet customer expectations and requirements
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with growers and clients
  • Actively involved in harvest season – visiting packhouses, quality checks, identify markets local/international, identify any risk areas etc.
  • Stock and Debtor Management
  • Price file – Update price list on regular basis
  • Fruit export programs – receiving fruit export program from client and allocation of orders according to packhouse estimates received
  • Client liaison – regular updates on volumes packed versus program
  • Grower payment administration
  • Assist quality department with claims – local and “on arrival”
  • Support logistics department
  • Reporting and general administration

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification with at least 4 years’ experience in a commercial environment
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in commercial and logistics of export table grapes
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
