We are a well-established restaurant located on a scenic wine farm in the Cape Winelands, seeking a skilled and dedicated waitron to join our front-of-house team.
Position Details:
This is a full-time role for an experienced waitron who thrives in a high-paced restaurant environment, catering to 80+ guests per shift.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English with strong communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a waitron
- Resides in or around the Somerset West area
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take and accurately communicate food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar
- Provide menu recommendations and confidently advise guests on daily specials and wine pairings
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally
- Ensure tables are properly set before service and cleared and reset between guests
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area throughout the shift
- Process payments accurately via cash, card, or EFT
- Maintain a strong understanding of the menu, including ingredients and allergens
- Engage with guests to ensure they have an enjoyable experience and address any concerns promptly
- Communicate guest feedback, special requests, or issues to the relevant team members
- Support colleagues as needed, especially during busy shifts
Education & Qualifications:
- Relevant training or equivalent professional experience
