Machine Operator (large implements and commercial tractors)

Requirements:

1. Grade 12 (matric)

2. code B drives licence

3. own reliable transport

4. clear criminal record

5. Problem Solving and troubleshooting skills essential

6. excellent driving skills

7. Afrikaans & English speaking

8. Basic mechanical knowledge

9. Ability to work independently

10. Must be willing to work overtime and away from home from time to time

11. Physically fit and able to handle manual labor

12. Must be computer literate

Desired experience and quilifations:

• experience in driving/operating big machinery

• diesel mechanic trade certificate

Responsibilities

1. Tractor driving duties that includes:

• planting and uprooting of vineyards

• grinding and chipping of wood/trees

• field preparations

• spraying

2. Uprooting of trees by excavator

3. Daily routine inspections, repairs and maintenance of machines

4. Repair and overhaul machinery during off season

5. Report equipment / machine faults and condition to Owner

6. Assisting in wine cellar

7. Operating a lees filter

8. Ad hoc farm maintenance duties when not operating the machines
