Brookdale Estate is looking for someone to join the team and grow the presence of the brand on both the South African and international stage. The team is dynamic and small requiring multiple hats at this early stage, with great room for professional growth as the business and team evolves. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, food, wine and people to help us on our journey, guide the brand and ensure a positive experience across channels and platforms.
ROLE DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in conjunction with all teams (Accommodation, Wine, Tasting Room & Bistro) to promote the brand, products and services;
- Improve brand recognition and equity in RSA and key international markets for each division ensuring the correct application (and evolution) of the brand guidelines;
- Manage and control the company assets (brand journal, pack shots, photographs, tasting notes, etc)
- Implement and grow the marketing strategy and budget across channels, divisions and markets;
- Implement and grow the digital marketing plan including social media, advertisements, advertorials; third party platforms, blogs, press releases, brochures and mailers;
- Implement and grow the print marketing plan, including magazines, advertisements, advertorials, newspapers, etc
- Engage in regular dialogue with consumers online (social media, website, emails, etc)
- Manage and respond to online Google reviews (Accommodation & Bistro & Tasting Room)
- Maintain and evolve the website (e-commerce, updated/correct content, blog posts, imagery and user functionality, working with partners to optimise);
- Generate and manage copy content creation (blogs, shoots, press releases, social media, presentations etc.);
- Design and distribute digital content (social media, flyers, advertisements, etc)
- Engage in regular dialogue with industry bodies, influencers and media, inviting them to collaborate with the brand
- Create or source print and digital brand collateral and promotional items across all platforms, adhering to brand guidelines; (tasting notes, menus, wine lists, flyers, brochures, etc)
- Ensure that constant communication is maintained with all industry bodies (wine.co.za; SA Wine, WOSA, Paarl Wine Route, Wesgro, Drakenstein Municipality, local schools, etc)
- Grow the segmented database of customers and contacts for e-communications;
- Provide feedback and ideas for strategies as needed to promote growth and encourage evolution;
- Stay on top of trends, while conducting market research
IDEAL CANDIDATE TRAITS & SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years marketing experience, qualifications and hospitality experience beneficial;
- Wine industry qualifications, certifications, background and/or experience beneficial;
- Strong administrative and reporting skills
- Great people skills, listens with intention to understand, is kind and has a strong ability to build lasting relationships;
- A creative, forward thinking, and intuitive individual who enjoys expanding their skills and knowledge;
- Ability to read between the lines, identify needs; see the big picture, understand reports, problem solve quickly and think on your feet;
- Must be self-motivated to work alone and have strong communication skills (verbal and written English);
- Knows: Wordpress, social platforms (Meta, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and Microsoft
- WETU, Nightsbridge, Mailchimp, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop/Lightroom beneficial
- Must be passionate about people, travel and hospitality and be pro-Paarl wine region.
