My Client is a dynamic and innovative company specialising in the export of high-quality fruits to international markets. They are committed to delivering fresh, sustainable, and premium products to their global customers. As they expand their operations, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement & Quality Manager to join their team who will report directly to the commercial director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the commercial team to execute and manage the procurement strategies
- Expand the fresh fruit sourcing footprint of the company and grow citrus export volumes of the group but not limited to citrus.
- Manage current and new business relationships with growers effectively.
- Discuss prices weekly with producers and confirm orders
- Ensure timely and effective communication between the procurement team, operational and commercial team.
- Ensure all orders is packed and delivered as planned with regular follow-ups.
- Provide regular market updates to growers, with regular check-ins to discuss the market situation and expected outcomes.
- Daily QC checks and QC report in packhouses and ensure fruit packed meets the customer specifications.
- Send and discuss QC reports from clients to producers
- Give feedback to commercial team of fruit quality packed and report on fruit quality that’s planned for packing
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in agriculture, logistics, marketing or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fruit industry
- Proven track record in procurement and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English & Afrikaans
