Vineyard Manager - Boland

Our client in the Boland is in need of a passionate Vineyard Manager. The purpose of this position will be to oversee vineyard operations. This hands-on role requires expertise in Viticulture, and as an added bonus some knowledge of pomology. A passion for sustainable farming and producing excellent quality grapes which will be used for production of wine on the farm by the Wine Maker will make you the ideal candidate.

 

Responsibilities:
Managing vineyards for wine production as well as some peach orchards and olives.
Manage Daily Operations, including pruning, harvesting and irrigation
Supervise and train staff to ensure efficiency and quality
Monitor plant health, pest controller and soil management
Collaborate with winemaker to align production with winery goals
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability practices

Requirements:
A relevant qualification in Viticulture/horticulture will count in your favor
A minimum of 5 years' experience in vineyard management
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Budget management
