A bespoke winery in Stellenbosch is seeking a hands-on Estate Garden Manager to lead the care, development, and maintenance of its gardens and natural areas. Ideal for someone with a passion for horticulture, sustainability, and outdoor design.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage a team of 7–10 people.
* Maintain and enhance the estate’s gardens to a high standard.
* Plan, implement, and oversee garden projects in line with the estate’s vision.
* Manage, improve, and maintain all garden and landscape irrigation systems.
* Handle the garden and broader estate maintenance budget effectively.
* Oversee plant propagation and manage a small-scale nursery.
* Actively participate in compost production and worm farming initiatives.
* Enhance and maintain the estate’s wine walk and drive experience.
* Improve natural areas for biodiversity and visual appeal.
* Maintain the main house to high standards.
* Oversee gated estate road and infrastructure upkeep.
Requirements:
* 2–3 years of relevant experience in garden or estate management.
* Practical experience and/or formal post-school education in related field.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* A passion for sustainability and outdoor environments.
Salary is negotiable based on experience.
