JAN Franschhoek, a proud collaboration between La Motte Wine Estate and Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, is seeking a passionate Senior Chef de Partie to join our culinary team for the 2025/2026 season. 

This unique culinary offering brings together heritage, innovation, and world-class hospitality in a spectacular Winelands setting.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in executing a highly curated, seasonal tasting menu
  • Lead a section of the kitchen with precision, efficiency, and creativity
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Mentor junior chefs and contribute to a culture of excellence and teamwork

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a fine dining kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary culinary techniques
  • Excellent plating and presentation skills with a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure during service
  • Passion for South African ingredients, wine, and elevated cuisine
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and team-oriented
  • Reliable own transport (essential)
  • Ability to work long, demanding hours in a fast-paced environment
