The successful candidate will form part of a passionate team of energetic and skilled wine-centric individuals, thriving in a high-performance environment. In addition, also continue building a proud legacy and grow our footprint in the On Trade, Specialist Retail space, establish strong Corporate relationships and manage special projects.

The successful candidate will be based in the Gauteng - Midrand and report directly to the National Premium Wine Executive.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Responsible for the growth and development of DGB Prestige Portfolio within the Winelands and outlaying areas by:

Maximizing DGB's Premium Wine through wine list penetration and expansion within the Prestige and Premium trade segmentations.
Identify new business opportunities and enhance market presence and customer engagement.
Identify new business opportunities to further grow DGB's On Trade, Corporate Customer, Private Buyers and Wine Clubs base.
Work closely with DGB Stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Winemakers) on new vintage releases, strategies and execution on brand plans in trade.
Support regional sales teams: plan, prepare, and deliver insightful and accurate trade visits for brand principles and stakeholders, where support is needed.
Provide ongoing market intelligence and trends to management.
Deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that is strategically aligned with business goals.
Provide internal and external wine training to mentor and develop lifelong brand ambassadors for all DGB’s Premium Wine brands.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive wine knowledge - having successfully completed WSET level 3 or similar courses.
Qualified in Sales and/or Marketing degree/diploma and has a minimum of 5 years in the FMCG or liquor industry.
A reliable, roadworthy, and presentable motor vehicle which is fully insured and a valid unendorsed driver's license.
A third language could be advantageous.
Innovative, energetic, highly motivated and responsible, with the ability to work with minimum supervision, on weekends and after hours.
A real passion for wine and an eagerness to learn more about the wine industry.
Professionally articulate with excellent numeracy, written, presentation and public speaking communication skills.
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
