We are looking for a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead and inspire a dynamic team in a high-end country dining & wine tasting setting. The role oversees day-to-day operations of the restaurant, the estate's tasting room, casual picnic experiences, and lunch services — delivering an exceptional guest experience while ensuring seamless service standards across all touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of the Restaurant & wine tasting space.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, beverage, and service standards.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and act on feedback promptly.

Tasting Room & Wine Experience

  • Manage the wine tasting room and all wine-related guest experiences.

  • Train staff on wine knowledge and guest engagement to promote wine sales.

  • Work closely with the winemaker/estate team to ensure alignment in storytelling and wine brand representation.

Picnic Service

  • Oversee the picnic setup, execution, and guest experience.

  • Ensure quality control on picnic basket contents, presentation, and timing.

  • Liaise with kitchen and service teams to streamline operations for outdoor experiences.

Team Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to provide world-class hospitality.

  • Manage shift scheduling, performance appraisals, and staff development.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Administrative

  • Manage budgets, stock levels, and supplier relationships to achieve profitability targets.

  • Handle daily reporting, POS oversight, and month-end reconciliation.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements.


Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in restaurant management, preferably in wine country or luxury hospitality.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent wine knowledge and passion for South African food and wine culture.

  • Hands-on, guest-centric approach with a flair for hospitality.

  • Experience managing multiple service offerings or outlets is a strong advantage.

  • Proficiency in restaurant POS systems and MS Office.
