About the Role
The Regional On-Con Key Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing key on-trade accounts in Gauteng and surrounding areas. The role focuses on executing national strategies at a regional level, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting brand activity in trade.
Reporting to the National On-Trade Key Account Manager, this role requires regular engagement with customers, internal teams, and brand partners to ensure that listings, promotions, and activations are effectively implemented. You will be expected to manage day-to-day account needs, monitor sales performance, and provide input that supports the broader team.
This is a practical, field-based role suited to someone who is self-managed, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders to deliver against targets
Roles and Responsibilities
Account Management
- Manage and grow regional on-trade key accounts with a focus on listings, volume, and value growth.
- Maintain regular contact with key customers, brand partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Implement customer-specific plans and support account objectives in line with national direction.
Sales Execution & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned region.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key customers and internal teams.
- Use sales reports and data to monitor account performance and address challenges
Internal and External Collaboration
- Work closely with the National On-Trade Key Account Manager to deliver on regional objectives.
- Support internal sales teams and brand partners through aligned planning and communication.
- Assist with national presentations, reporting, and other key deliverables as required
Brand Partner & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for brand partners in the region.
- Ensure brand plans are executed in trade and feedback is communicated clearly.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth implementation of trade activity.
Market insights and reporting
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the on-trade channel.
- Track customer feedback and propose ways to improve service or performance.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, account performance, and visit schedules.
Key Capabilities & Experience:

- 3 - 5 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably within the wine or liquor industry.
- Proven ability to manage and grow customer accounts within a regional or on-trade environment.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced, field-based role.
- Confident in using sales data and reporting tools to inform decisions and actions.
- Practical understanding of the on-trade sales cycle and customer dynamics.
- Wine industry knowledge and/or formal wine training will be an advantage.
Other Requirements
- Matric certificate (tertiary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Gauteng and surrounding regions.
