Job Purpose

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and compliant export of fruit, contributing to the company's success in the international market.

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • An additional qualification in this field is beneficial.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SQL is beneficial
  • Fluent in written and verbal English & Afrikaans
  • Own reliable transport with valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)

  • Maintain and update sailing schedules.
  • Stock Management: Daily stock updates, reconciliation, management and allocation thereof
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining accurate records of customer information, internal company systems and databases shipping documents, and any other relevant documentation to support traceability and ensure smooth operations.
  • Accurately & timeous processing all electronic data and documentation within our export system (QX) (EDI files, Stock, load out instructions, packing list, addendums etc)
  • Liaising with clients via e-mail, WhatsApp and telephonically
  • Addressing and resolving any documentation-related queries from customers or other stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining effective daily reporting & pro-active communication & coordination with various stakeholders, including suppliers, freight forwarding agent, logistic providers, customers, and internal teams, regarding, but not limited to; shipment status, vessel selection, tracking updates, loading progress, load out instructions, export documentation requirements & status, delays or shipping issues and other relevant information
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with all relevant international trade laws, regulations, and standards for fruit exports.
  • Providing general Ad-hoc tasks & administrative support and assisting with other tasks associated with the position
  • Weekly reporting of Industry statistic volume summary to Traders
  • Daily tracking of shipments
  • Participate in team meetings, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Providing support to the Internal teams
  • This role requires occasional after-hours availability for urgent situations. Sometimes issues arise outside of standard business hours. For example, you might be asked to respond to an urgent email or troubleshoot a system problem remotely.

  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
  • Excellent Attention to Detail: Accuracy in preparing and handling documentation is crucial.
  • Proficiency in document management and record-keeping.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Experience in the Fruit Industry: Familiarity with relevant export regulations and procedures, fruit production, packing, and export processes is beneficial.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to export operations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing requirements and procedures.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial transactions related to exports.
