Our client, a farm deli based in Citrusdal, is seeking to appoint a Chef to join their team. The successful candidate is creative and innovative, has good knowledge of food and combinations, with excellent presentation skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Preparation and execution of a variety of high-quality dishes *Develop, create, and prepare exciting dishes for special occasions and functions *Sourcing and procurement of products to ensure optimal stock levels throughout serving *Management of kitchen inventory and stock rotation *Collaborate on menu development to adapt recipes and create new dishes *Ensuring a work environment that complies with relevant quality and service delivery standards *Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols in the kitchen *Manage the day-to-day kitchen operations *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A relevant Culinary qualification;
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen;
  • Experience in menu planning and execution for special events;
  • Inventory, procurement, and stock rotation knowledge;
  • Food safety and hygiene knowledge;
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in managing or leading a kitchen team;
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
