Journey’s End Winery requires an in-house Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team.
With a bold and agile approach to brand building and product development, we’re looking for a highly motivated graduate designer to join our growing in-house team as our dedicated design lead. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a fast-paced studio-style environment, where your work will directly impact how our wines show up on shelves, in-store, and in the hands of consumers.
Your focus will be Label Design/Amendments, NPD (New Product Development) and support with marketing collateral from menus, ecommerce banners, presentations, advertising, to retail mock-ups, bringing fresh creative ideas to life while upholding existing brand guidelines across multiple portfolios.
You’ll work closely with the marketing and production teams to:
- Create new wine labels for branded and own-label ranges
- Adjust and evolve existing labels based on client, market, production needs
- Manage the workflow and timing of design projects from concept to final printer-ready artwork, whilst ensuring quality control gates are met
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure artwork meets realistic production specs and technical requirements
You’ll also support marketing design tasks such as:
- Mock-ups for POS displays, shelf-talkers, and in-store activations
- Visual merchandising assets and trade presentation decks
- Design for marketing collateral: brochures, menu cards, tasting invitations, social media visual assets, e-comm banner, print advertising and more
This role acts as our internal creative studio-fast-moving, highly collaborative, and hands-on.
What We’re Looking For
We want a designer who:
- Has a strong instinct for brand identity and consistency, with the ability to both create and flex brand guidelines across different products
- Is highly proactive and solutions-oriented- someone who doesn’t wait to be asked, but brings ideas and keeps projects moving
- Can prioritise and multitask across simultaneous design projects and market requests
- Understands the commercial reality of production (especially print limitations) and can design accordingly
- Is comfortable taking feedback, making iterative changes, and working collaboratively with marketing, sales, and external stakeholders
- Has excellent communication skills- clear, concise, and confident in both presenting work and asking the right questions to enable their workflow
- Knowledge of print specs, bleed, trim, colour profiles (CMYK vs RGB), pantones, and press-ready file preparation
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines timeously.
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Graphic Design or related field (recent graduate or with 1 year min experience)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop essential; XD or After Effects a plus), CAD – advantageous but not essential
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creative flair and strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, colour theory, visual storytelling, and packaging design.
- Experience with product packaging, POS, brochures, flyers and event collateral
- Previous experience or internships in FMCG, wine/spirits, or retail design (advantageous but not essential)
- Interest in wine, food & drink, and/or premium branding a bonus
What We Offer
- 6-month full-time contract with the intention to extend to a permanent position
- Flexible hybrid working (office location in Somerset West + remote)
- Opportunity to build your portfolio with high-impact consumer-facing design
- Hands-on experience working in a fast-growing, award-winning wine company
- Collaborative, creative and entrepreneurial culture
