Our client, a well-established leader as a supplier of high-end local and imported equipment and consulting services to the food and beverage industries, requires an individual to join their dynamic team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification in Bookkeeping/ Accounting / Finance
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the machinery/ spare parts industry / FMCG/ import industry.
  • A good understanding of international trade, import documentation, and foreign payments.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Pastel, Sage Evolution, Microsoft Business Central, or similar ERP systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • MS Excel
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange processes and South African Reserve Bank compliancy

Key Performance Area:

KPA’s will include (but are not limited to) the following essential responsibilities:

Overall Creditors & Debtors: Manage high-volume accounts, creditor payments, reconciling statements, processing monthly journals, and ensuring timely collections

Accounts Payable: Capture invoices, reconcile accrual accounts, and process local and foreign payments accurately and timely.

Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile multiple bank accounts (USD, EUR, GBP) and ensure payments are processed as per internal controls.

Supplier Management: Actively manage supplier relationships, resolving queries and ensuring smooth operational continuity.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly financial reporting by providing accurate accounts payable and receivable data.
  • Maintain filing and audit trails for all payments, receipts, and import documentation.
  • Assist with internal audits and compliance checks.
  • Perform general finance administrative duties as required (reconciliation of petty cash, staff overtime)
