Tasting Room Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Tasting Room Manager to lead and elevate the guest experience at our wine estate. This role requires a strong passion for wine, exceptional hospitality skills, and the ability to manage a team in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Location: IDIOM Tasting Centre - Somerset West 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the tasting room, ensuring smooth service and a welcoming atmosphere

• Manage, train, and motivate the tasting room team

• Deliver outstanding customer experiences through wine knowledge, storytelling, and tailored tastings

• Coordinate with the sales and events team to support wine sales, functions, and estate promotions

• Maintain stock levels, POS systems, and tasting room presentation

• Handle customer feedback, reservations, and group bookings professionally

• Report on sales, staff performance, and visitor trends

Requirements:

• Proven experience in hospitality, wine, or tourism (management experience preferred)

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Passion for wine and willingness to continuously learn about our portfolio

• Ability to work weekends and public holidays

• Candidates with WSET Level 2, WSET Level 3 or other wine qualifications will be given preference
