Morgenhof Wine Estate, situated on the historic slopes of the Simonsberg, invites applications for its 2026 Harvest Internship Programme. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with a premium producer and gain valuable experience across all aspects of the wine-making process.
Dates:
Start: Early January 2026
End: Late April 2026 (subject to seasonal variation)
Key Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in:
- Grape intake, quality control and processing
- Fermentation management (inoculation, temperature control, cap work)
- Daily cellar operations, including racking, pump-overs, pressing and barrel work
- Routine analysis and fermentation tracking (Brix, temperatures, tasting, etc.)
- Equipment cleaning and maintaining high hygiene standards
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have completed tertiary studies in Viticulture and Oenology
- Are serious about a career in winemaking and committed to learning
- Display a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and be able to manage long hours
- Communicate effectively and work well in a small, focused team
- Have prior harvest or cellar experience (advantageous but not essential)
