We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Cook to assist our Head Chef in a new restaurant venture located in the beautiful Winelands. The menu offering will be simple and seasonal, so we’re not looking for a highly specialised or fancy sous chef – just someone dependable, efficient, and passionate about good food.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid kitchen experience who is looking to be part of a close-knit, growing team from the early stages.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in daily food prep and service
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Follow kitchen safety and hygiene standards
Support stock control and assist with deliveries
Be flexible and willing to step up during busy periods or cover additional shifts if needed
Requirements
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
A team player with a strong work ethic
Comfortable with a simple, farm-style menu
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
Punctual, reliable, and professional
Flexibility for occasional evening shifts
