La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley requires a vibrant person, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm to join the Bakery team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Measuring meal ingredients for senior chefs
- Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
- Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by senior chefs
- Taking inventory when needed
- Discarding expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers
- Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized
- Plating and presenting meal items as per chefs’ instructions
Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:
- Degree or Diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- At least one years’ experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Energetic personality
- Ability to work under pressure
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use initiative and be self-driven
- Own reliable transport
- Sober habits
- Willingness to work weekends and Public Holidays
- Contactable references available
