Our esteemed client, a distinguished winery, nestled in the heart of Stellenbosch Winelands, has garnered acclaim for its exceptional wines and upmarket dining experiences.
 
We seek an experienced Senior Sous Chef who share our client’s passion for the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate brings at least 3-5 years’ experience gained on Sous Chef Level, in a sophisticated restaurant environment. International Sous Chef experience beneficial.
 
Requirements and Experience:
 
• A formal Culinary Education essential
• Minimum of 3-5 years‘ experience on Sous Chef level, in a sophisticated restaurant environment
• Ability to effectively lead and manage a kitchen brigade
• Assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison
• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
• Ongoing staff training and development
• Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport a pre-requisite
• Computer literate
