My Client is a global leader in managing fruit varieties worldwide. They operate at the forefront of fruit variety innovation, connecting breeders, growers, and markets across the globe.

They are seeking a Technical Manager to join their  South African team, based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The person will have significant responsibility, autonomy, and opportunity for growth.

Requirements

• Minimum: BSc Agric (Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Production, or similar). MSc Agric advantageous.

• At least 2-4 years’ work experience.

• Experience in citrus cultivation (other fruit crop experience is an advantage).

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within South Africa and occasionally internationally.

• High level of integrity, reliability, and adaptability in a small-team environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and resilience under pressure.

Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Grower Relations

• Provide technical advice and assistance to growers on variety performance and management.

• Develop and implement protocols for optimal cultivation practices.

• Conduct regular on-site visits to farms, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Trial Site Management

• Coordinate and manage activities at variety trial sites.

• Conduct and oversee pre- and post-harvest trials.

• Maintain trial site condition and ensure accurate data capture and evaluation. Licensing Support

• Assist with the licensing process and compliance monitoring for nurseries and growers.
