Saxenburg is looking for a Tasting Room Manager (Temporary Position)

As the face of our estate, you will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing the tasting room experience, driving sales performance, and upholding the highest standards of excellence to our guests.

Tasting Room Manager – Fixed-Term Contract (2 Months)
Location: Saxenburg Wine Estate – Stellenbosch
Start Date: 15 September 2025
Contract: Full-time, 2-month fixed contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (excluding Public holidays), 10:00 – 18:00

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the tasting room, including daily set up – washing & polishing glasses & ensuring an elevated and seamless guest experience
• Lead a team of casuals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Deliver premium, personalized wine experiences through expert storytelling, product knowledge, and warm hospitality
• Collaborate closely with the sales & marketing to support estate promotions,  and targeted sales initiatives
• Ensure optimal presentation, stock control, and functionality of POS systems and merchandising
• Manage guest feedback, group bookings, and VIP engagements with professionalism and attention to detail
• Monitor and report on sales performance, team productivity, and visitor trends, providing strategic insights and recommendations to leadership

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in a hospitality, tourism, or wine-related management role
• Wine qualifications such as WSET  (or equivalent) are advantageous and will be given preference.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities with a hands-on, service-first mindset
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• A genuine passion for wine, with a commitment to staying informed and educated on our portfolio and industry trends
