Delaire Graff Restaurant is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Assistant Sommelier to elevate our guests’ dining experiences. Responsibilities include:

• Recommending and pairing wines with dishes to enhance the guest experience

• Training and supporting restaurant staff on wine knowledge and service

• Managing wine list updates and placing wine & beverage orders

• Sourcing exciting new wines and liaising with suppliers

• Conducting stock-takes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring correct wine service standards

• Promoting guest satisfaction while adhering to all liquor regulations

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with a Cape Wine Academy certificate or WSET Level 1

• 1–2 years’ wine tutor/related experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of grape varieties, regions, climates, and winemaking

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Professional, well-presented, and passionate about hospitality

• Ability to engage with distinguished clientele
