DGB’s true roots extends over 330 years when winemaking began at the Boschendal and Bellingham farms in the Cape Winelands. DGB (Pty) Ltd was formally established in 1990, which led to several further acquisitions like Boschendal, Franschhoek Cellars, Brampton Wines, Fryers Cove, Backsberg and most recently Avontuur.

Today, DGB is one of South Africa’s largest independent wine and spirit producers and distributors, serving both the local market, as well as exporting to almost 100 countries worldwide. The successful candidate will be based in the Limpopo area and report directly to the National Premium Wine Executive.

Our Performance Expectations:        

  • Deliver new business and sales set against defined KPI objectives.
  • Maximise DGB’s Premium Wine portfolio via listings in the 4 and 5* Game Lodges/Reserves in the greater Limpopo Area and surrounds.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce DGB’s premium wine portfolio through wine tastings, wine dinners and events by coordinating and working closely with DGB stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Winemakers) both in person and virtually.
  • Identify and work closely with DGB route to market partners to service the game lodges within the defined region.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and trends to management.
  • Provide wine training for internal sales as well as externally for customers.

Our successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of wines having successfully completed relevant wine courses (i.e. CWA, WSET)
  • Matric with preferably a relevant tertiary diploma/degree.
  • A reliable, roadworthy, and presentable motor vehicle which is fully insured and a valid unendorsed driver’s license.
  • Energy to drive innovation, be highly motivated and responsible and be able and willing to work with minimum supervision, weekends and after hours.
  • A real passion for presenting and selling with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good negotiating skills with sound business acumen.
  • Good computer literacy.
