We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to own upkeep across four wine farms (cellar, hospitality, buildings, irrigation/pumps, utilities). You’ll split your week between tools-in-hand work and planning, lead one multi-skilled technician, and coordinate trusted contractors for bigger jobs. The goal: safe, compliant, cost-effective facilities that look great and run reliably.
What you’ll do
- Plan and run preventative maintenance across critical assets (pumps/boreholes, HVAC/cold rooms, generators, wastewater, fire/safety, electrical, security).
- Triage and complete priority repairs; scope small renovations/installs.
- Source, quote and supervise contractors; manage COCs, permits and safety.
- Control budget, stock spares/consumables, and keep clean records/CMMS.
- Drive utilities efficiency (water, electricity, diesel/LPG).
- Uphold SA OHS Act & SANS standards; lead toolbox talks and safe systems of work.
What you’ll bring
- Trade test (Millwright/Electrician/Plumber) or relevant diploma + 5 yrs multi-site maintenance.
- Solid practical skills in at least two: carpentry/woodwork, plumbing, light electrical, irrigation/pumps, finishes, basic welding.
- Confident with OHS, SANS 10142-1 (electrical), SANS 10400 (buildings) & COC processes.
- Planner’s discipline, neat workmanship, cost consciousness, and clear communication.
- Valid SA driver’s licence.
Nice to have: Wireman’s Licence, refrigeration/HVAC exposure, wine-estate or hospitality experience.
