Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Restaurant & Events Manager to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. This role is perfect for a hospitality professional with a passion for service excellence and strong organisational skills, supporting both restaurant operations and event management.

? Salary: R12,000 – R14,000 Negotiable DOE

? Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Management:

?‍? Assist with daily restaurant operations ensuring smooth service & high-quality standards

?‍?‍? Support in managing, training, scheduling & reviewing staff performance

 Maintain exceptional customer service & handle guest feedback professionally

? Drive positive guest engagement through reviews & social media mentions

? Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene & health regulations

? Monitor inventory, place orders & control costs

? Collaborate with kitchen & bar teams for seamless service

? Manage POS systems, cash-ups & revenue reporting

? Conduct stock takes & reconcile variance reports

? Communicate promotions & collect guest data

? Participate in weekly FOH & management meetings

Events Management:

? Plan & execute events from enquiry to completion (birthdays, baby showers, kitchen teas, etc.)

? Prepare quotations & manage bookings on Dineplan & Semper systems

? Liaise with clients to deliver on requirements

? Conduct site inspections & ensure venues are presentable

?‍? Work with kitchen & service teams for smooth execution

? Distribute function sheets to management in advance

? Develop event packages, pricing & promotions

? Manage event logistics, staffing & post-event evaluations

? Build relationships with suppliers & event planners

General Responsibilities:

? Complete administrative duties related to restaurant & event operations

? Compile accurate reports & handovers for senior management

 Ensure staff compliance with company policies

? Attend maintenance meetings & report issues

? Manage staff levels effectively

? Undertake additional duties as required by management

Requirements

Previous experience in restaurant and/or event management within a luxury hospitality environment

Strong organisational, financial, and administrative skills

Excellent interpersonal & communication abilities

Proactive, solutions-driven, with strong attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
