Based on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, this 5-star property is known as a historic landmark in the Winelands. We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our client’s dynamic team.
 
The ideal individual is someone with a strong skill set relating to management, admin, operations with a love for food and staff development.
 
Previous experience in running and managing a busy 5* Hotel kitchen operations beneficial, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure. A formal Culinary education and own reliable transport and valid driver’s license is essential.
 
In the Sous Chef Role you would be expected to assist the Executive Chef with managing and directing the kitchen operations and staff, assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison, excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation, staff development and disciplining, setting up and managing SOP’s, ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
