We are looking for a Pastry Commis Chef to help prepare ingredients and assist the kitchen team with daily tasks. The care and attention a Pastry Commis Chef devotes to food preparation will contribute to creating truly exceptional dishes that delight our guests.
Responsibilities:
Offer professional, friendly, and proactive support to senior chefs.
Ensure consistency in the preparation of all food items for à la carte and buffet menus.
Assist with deliveries and proper storage of ingredients.
Actively contribute ideas and feedback during daily shift briefings.
Complete daily checks of mise en place to maintain freshness and quality.
Rotate products correctly to ensure minimal waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, utensils, and equipment.
Follow all food safety and sanitation policies.
Requirements:
Grade 12 plus a Chef Certificate or Diploma.
1–2 years of previous experience as a Commis Chef in a fine-dining or 5-star restaurant.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
