Asara Wine Estate & Hotel, a leading Stellenbosch producer of super-premium wines, is looking for an Export & Logistics Coordinator to oversee all local and international shipments, ensuring seamless, efficient, and timely delivery. This role also manages health and safety compliance, maintaining a safe, legally compliant workplace across warehouse and logistics operations.
As the main point of contact for logistics, exports, and client queries, you will play a vital role in supporting the estate’s reputation for quality and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Distribution: Plan and coordinate product deliveries, meeting deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Export Management: Prepare documentation, manage customs clearance, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Invoicing & Records: Generate invoices accurately and maintain clear records of shipments and compliance.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels using EzyWine, perform regular physical counts, and reconcile with system data.
- Dry Goods Management: Oversee all dry goods required for production, including labels, closures, cartons, and packaging materials. Ensure accurate forecasting, stock control, and timely procurement to support seamless production and bottling operations.
- Health & Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety standards across warehouse and logistics operations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise warehouse and delivery teams, manage route planning, and ensure accurate, timely preparation of stock and invoices.
- Client & Supplier Relations: Build strong relationships, resolve client queries, and maintain reliable delivery and procurement channels.
- Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
- Compliance & Reporting: Manage export quota applications and assist with audit processes.
- Administration: Support general administrative tasks related to stock, customers, and exports.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is beneficial, but not essential.
- 3+ years’ experience in logistics coordination, preferably in the wine or FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of customs processes and export regulations (wine export experience advantageous).
- Proven experience managing health and safety compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with EzyWine is a plus.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
