Leopard’s Leap Vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley requires a person with a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic outlook and the ability to function well under pressure to join the Restaurant team.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • prepare and cook dishes in assigned section to the highest standard according to set recipes
  • ensure consistency and quality of dishes
  • monitor portion and waste control
  • assist with inventory checks and stock rotation
  • ensure strict compliance with hygiene, food safety and health regulations
  • supervise and mentor junior chefs
  • assist senior chefs with menu development

Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:

  • degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
  • previous experience in a similar position in a professional kitchen
  • strong preparation and cooking skills across multiple techniques
  • knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety and allergen protocols
  • good understanding of stock rotation, portion control and minimising waste
  • strong attention to detail
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to function as part of a team
  • ability to work independently and take initiative
  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
  • contactable references
