Winemaker

Our winemaker, Werner Muller having been an invaluable member of the Iona family for 15 years, will be leaving after the 2026 harvest to pursue his own endeavour. 

As we enter our new exciting phase, we are looking for a winemaker who will be responsible for the overall production from vineyard to the bottle of all the Iona range, comprising the Chardonnay’s, Pinot Noir’s and Sauvignon Blanc’s, produced from our Elgin Highlands vineyards, Solace and One Man Band from our Elgin Biodynamic vineyards, and overseeing the Sophie Cape South Coast range through our Villiersdorp Winery investment.

We are a small, tightly-knit team, and apart from requiring sound winemaking experience to continue our mission to produce wines that make the most of the special vineyards, he or she will have the ability, desire and outgoing personality to be an integral part of every aspect of our pursuit.

Starting date is negotiable as Werner will be staying until the end of the 2026 harvest.
