Robertson Winery is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bottling Technician to join their production team based in Robertson (Western Cape).

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all bottling line machinery and supporting production teams to meet quality and efficiency targets. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to minimising downtime and driving productivity.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): *Conducting preventative maintenance and attending to breakdowns *Managing and optimising workflow of bottling lines *Performing pre-checks before production starts *Providing technical assistance and training to operators on production line machinery *Performing technical adjustments to ensure quality and compliance with specifications *Maintaining accurate job cards and maintenance check sheets *Reporting breakdowns and maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager and Bottling Manager *Ensuring adherence to safety, health, and food safety (HACCP) procedures *Maintaining clean and orderly work areas, tools, and equipment *Participating in continuous personal and technical development programs.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • N4 Mechanical qualification (Fitter/Turner) or equivalent;
  • Approximately 5 year’s relevant experience in a FMCG/Food/Bottling environment;
  • Strong understanding of bottling line machinery (steriliser, filler, capper, blower, labeller, strapper, conveyor systems, etc.);
  • Experience with workshop tools (welding, hydraulic press, grinder, etc.) and a proven track record in preventative maintenance and machine setup;
  • Excellent communication skills (Afrikaans & English);
  • Computer literacy and sound record-keeping ability;
  • Willingness to work night shift and overtime.
