Daniel Colombo
Stellenbosch
I'm looking for someone to help with day-to-day activities from early January (potentially earlier) until the end of March. I'll have just had a major operation and won't be able to perform most of the basic winemaking tasks for the season. Ideally looking for someone who's interested in low-intervention wines and is keen to have an experience outside of a traditional winery. The production is not big at all, but the vibes are huge.
Basic tasks for the period will include the following.
- Managing the bottling of 2025 vintage in late January.
- Sampling and collection of grapes during harvest 2026 (Bakkie provided)
- Cellar work
- deliveries of wine
- everything in between
What skills and attributes should you have?
- Basic winemaking knowledge
- Must be an unbelievable driver and be able to reverse a 4m trailer down a vineyard row with surgical precision.
- Flexible hours are a part of the job, some early hours and late nights happen
- You'll need to be strong, everything is done by hand, plenty of heavy lifting and sweating.
- Must be willing to sit in the car with me for hours
- Be Organised
Happy to discuss salary etc!
