Tasting Room and Direct Sales Manager

Saxenburg Estates is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Tasting Room and Direct Sales Manager to join our team and take charge of the day-to-day operations of our tasting room. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about wine, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily setup and smooth running of the tasting room, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
• Host tastings, manage visitor relations, and drive walk-in wine sales.
• Train, guide, and supervise the casual staff.
• Manage and coordinate the casual staff roster.
• Keep price lists and tasting materials up to date and professionally presented.
• Manage stock levels, orders, and supplies, including wines, chocolates, cheese platter inventory and biltong.
• Ensure excellent brand presentation and merchandising in the tasting room.
• Coordinate courier collections and deliveries
• Manage till operations, cash-ups, and opening/closing procedures.
• Develop creative ideas and initiatives to grow tasting room sales and increase visitor numbers.

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or a similar customer-facing role. 
• Wine industry experience.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Comfortable with stock management and basic administrative duties.
• Proficient in point-of-sale and basic computer systems (experience with Sage & Humble Till a plus).
• A passion for wine, people, and delivering excellent service.
