D’Aria Winery is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Assistant Winemaker to join our production team in the Durbanville Wine Valley. This role spans from harvest through to order dispatch, ensuring smooth coordination of winemaking, production, compliance, and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities include but is not limited to: 

  • Assist with winemaking tasks from harvest to bottling preparations, including fermentation management, blending, stabilisation, admin and quality control.
  • Plan and book bottling and labelling with the Winemakers guidance; purchase and manage dry goods.
  • Manage and capture all production activities on EZWine.
  • Handle orders and dispatch: check and pack stock, help arrange delivery schedules and courier bookings.
  • Complete and maintain SAWIS documentation (SAWIS 6, 9, 10, 11, Pink Cards) and ensure IPW compliance.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes of labelled wine and dry goods; participate in annual audits.
  • Oversee health and safety: inspections, forklift/fire equipment servicing, PPE, and IOD reporting.
  • Ensure vehicles and forklifts are serviced and operational.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of cellar experience (Assistant Winemaker experience advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of SAWIS and IPW compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Office; EZWine experience essential.
  • Valid forklift licence, driver’s licence, and own reliable transport required.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of exports will be an advantage.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and public holidays when required.
  • Contactable references required.
