Vineyard Manager

Savage Wines, an urban winery based in Salt River, currently has a position available for an experienced Vineyard Manager to join their team.

The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English) and the ability to perform well in both team context and individually. This exciting career opportunity is ideal for an energetic individual with a high level of enthusiasm paired with a passion for wine and vineyard management.

Duties include: *Overseeing all vineyard operations *strategic inputs to sourcing of raw materials *Management of contract teams *Management of grape intake during harvest *Management of quality control *Assist in cellar activities *Support sales and marketing initiatives where needed *Some winery work from time to time *All other tasks related to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Elsenburg or similar);
• 2-3 years’ Viticultural experience within a similar role;
• Own reliable transport with valid driver’s license (preferably Code 10);
• Willingness to work overtime when required, especially during harvest season and travel between rental vineyards.
