Diemersdal Wine Estate is seeking an experienced, driven, and relationship-centred Sales Manager for the Gauteng region. This role requires a dynamic individual with deep industry insight, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for premium wine.

The ideal candidate is a natural networker, highly self-motivated, and able to grow brand presence across on-consumption and premium trade outlets while managing key customer relationships with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales for the Diemersdal brand within the Gauteng region, with a strong focus on on-consumption and premium outlets.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain outstanding relationships with customers, trade partners, and our national distribution partner.
  • Support and lead sales representatives with new leads, customer appointments, trade visits, tastings, waiter training sessions, and closing sales.
  • Identify and secure brand-building opportunities within outlets to drive visibility and consumer engagement.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse trends, and ensure budgets, monthly targets, and KPIs are consistently met.
  • Represent Diemersdal at industry events, trade shows, tastings, and promotional activities — including occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Provide regular market intelligence, competitor feedback, and strategic recommendations for growth.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and call cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team, marketing department, and distribution partner to ensure seamless execution of brand strategy.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in the liquor industry, with preference given to candidates with wine sales experience.
  • Proven track record in managing sales territories and achieving targets.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, wine categories, and the premium on-consumption market.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • Willingness to travel within the Gauteng region and occasionally nationally.
  • Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence essential.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills.
