We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Assistant Winemaker to join our dynamic winemaking team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed to quality, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to all stages of the winemaking process.

Role Overview

The Assistant Winemaker will support all aspects of wine production, from grape to bottle. This role works closely with the Winemaker to ensure quality standards are met and production runs smoothly throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in all stages of fermentation, blending, and bottling

  • Perform routine laboratory analyses and maintain accurate records

  • Coordinate fruit intake during harvest; supervise cellar staff as needed

  • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process

  • Monitor barrel programs, racking, topping, and cellar hygiene

  • Operate and maintain winery equipment safely and efficiently

  • Contribute to trials, product development, and vintage planning

  • Support inventory, compliance, and reporting tasks

Qualifications

  • Degree in Oenology, Viticulture, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 1–3 years of winery/cellar experience preferred

  • Strong sensory evaluation and laboratory skills

  • Ability to work long, flexible hours during harvest

  • Physical capability for cellar work (lifting, climbing, etc.)

  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping

  • Forklift certification is an advantage
