We are seeking an energetic, creative, and reliable Maintenance Manager to lead our small winery maintenance team with a strong focus on maintenance and planning. This role is critical in ensuring production facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. The Maintenance Manager will oversee a maintenance assistant, develop and manage maintenance schedules, plan facility improvement projects, and ensure timely execution through effective coordination with management. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to planning are key to success in this role.
Key accountability areas:
- Scheduling and project management.
- Planning, managing within the maintenance budget.
- Manage a proactive preventative maintenance strategy.
- Conduct frequent walk through and regular inspections to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the facility and ensure the proper working of all water and electrical units and mechanical systems in the facility.
- Keep records of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in the facility and place orders for spare parts and equipment for replacement and ascertaining the proper documentation of the same.
- Plan and oversee all repairs and installation activities.
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures, ensure Occupational safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while carrying out maintenance functions.
Qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 1 years proven experience in maintenance management and planning or similar position.
- A minimum of 2 - 3 years hands-on experience in maintenance or a related trade.
- Holds relevant qualifications in maintenance and mechanical or electrical field or have proven and relevant experience in the field.
- Code 10 licence will be an advantage.
- Previous winery or production facility experience will be an advantage.
Skills and competencies:
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly.
- Experienced in leading a multidisciplinary maintenance team, fostering a safety-focused and high-performance culture.
- Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults to optimize equipment up-time and efficiency.
- Successfully managed projects in time, including equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
Subsidized housing is available on the estate, as it is preferred that the Maintenance Manager stay on the estate close to the facility.
