Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a professional and personable Wine Lounge Hostess on a fixed-term contract to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring excellent customer service and a pleasant dining and wine experience.
Responsibilities:
Welcome guests to the venue and escort them to assigned dining or bar areas
Manage reservations and coordinate seating options with wait staff
Provide menus and announce waiter/waitress names
Greet guests upon their departure
Maintain the hostess desk clean and tidy
Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)
Answer incoming calls and address guest queries
Assist wait staff as needed
Requirements:
Grade 12; hospitality certificate is a plus
1–2 years’ previous hostess experience preferred
Understanding of restaurant etiquette
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Experience managing reservations
Ability to work in a team
Strong customer service and communication skills (phone and in-person)
Strong organisational skills and ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
Availability to work within opening hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Good physical condition to walk and stand during shifts
Comfortable interacting with distinguished clientele
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Well-presented, flexible, accountable, and enthusiastic
