We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Financial Controller to join our small finance team, with a primary focus on purchase orders and accounts payable for production-related suppliers.
This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in keeping our winemaking and vineyard operations running smoothly by ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, purchase orders are correctly raised and matched, and costs are properly allocated.
Key Responsibilities
Raise, review and get approval on purchase orders for all production and vineyard-related requisitions
Receive and process supplier invoices matching it to the PO
Manage the accounts payable cycle for production suppliers (reconciliations, payment runs, query resolution)
Liaise closely with the winemaking, vineyard and cellar teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely delivery of goods/services
Maintain accurate supplier records and payment terms
Assist with monthly creditor reconciliations and age analysis
Support stock and cost-of-production reporting where required
Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects and month-end processes, including payroll administration
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Accounting/ Bookkeeping/ Finance (or equivalent)
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in accounts payable and purchase order processing (experience in the wine/ agriculture/ manufacturing industry advantageous)
Strong working knowledge of ERP/finance systems (we use Ezywine Pro)
Excellent Excel skills
High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication skills - you will interact daily with suppliers and internal production teams
Valid driver's license and own transport (essential - the farm is located outside Somerset West)
