Kleine Zalze Wines in Stellenbosch is looking for a Junior Cellar Worker to work on this award-winning Estate. We process around 1000 tons in a season, ranging from Cap Classique to Cabernet.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement daily cellar duties
    • Clean velar, tanks, floors and equipment
    • Offloading and loading of wine
    • Weighing of chemicals and additives for additions
    • Pumping of wine to different tanks
    • Documentation of cellar actions and additions
    • Draw samples
    • Dip tanks—for stocktaking
    • Preparing yeast
    • Washing of barrels with machine
  • Complete filtering—bulk filter/filtration and sheet filtration/flotation
  • Operating presses and switchboard
  • Be part of the firefighting or first aid team
  • Report all irregular activities in the winemaking process/cellar
  • Be part of barrel store team and assist with all barrel activities
  • Regular work with concrete eggs, amphoras and foudres—including but not limited to filling, emptying and sanitizing

Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate and/or SKOP 1
  • 2 years’ experience in a Cellar
